Wanderers’ forward Kieran Sadlier has joined Leyton Orient on loan for the rest of the season to aid their League Two promotion push.
The Whites have allowed Sadlier to move to Brisbane Road for the chance of more regular first-team football between now and the end of the campaign.
Sadlier’s move follows the signing of Cameron Jerome and the loan arrival of Dan Nlundulu earlier in the window to strengthen Wanderers’ striking resources.
Sadlier joined Wanderers during last January’s transfer window and links up with the O’s after scoring his fifth goal of the season in the Whites’ 2-1 defeat at Derby last Saturday.
That came during another appearance from the bench with all bar one of his starts this season coming in cup competitions as Wanderers’ boss Ian Evatt now gives the former Rotherham man the opportunity to add to his game time.
“Kieran wants a run at playing wide in a 4-3-3 formation,” said Evatt.
“We actually signed him to play in that position. Circumstances changed and we found another shape.
“We’ve been very successful in that shape and Kieran has suffered a bit with that.
“He’s 28-year-old and wants to be playing regular first-team football. As it stands right now we can’t offer him that so we have allowed him to get games elsewhere.
“That’s what he wants to do and we’ve again tried to do right by Kieran and give him that opportunity to go and do that.”
