Captain Ricardo Almeida Santos has been short-listed for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award for February.
The Wanderers’ defender enjoyed an outstanding run of games during the month following his return to full fitness after the bout of illness that left him in hospital before Christmas.
Memorably, Santos also ended his wait for a first goal for the Whites with a double in the club’s 5000th league fixture at Peterborough United.
The classy central defender was then on target again in the following game against MK Dons as he helped Ian Evatt’s men to a second successive 5-0 win.
Santos is up against Derby County striker David McGoldrick, Shrewsbury Town defender Chey Dunkley and Barnsley full-back Jordan Williams for the February prize.
The judging panel for the award comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
