On The Buses!

Over recent months, the Club has been consulting with Supporters including the Bolton Wanderers’ Supporters Trust surrounding the continuation of our matchday buses and we are pleased to confirm that a streamlined service will continue for home league fixtures for the 2023/24 season and beyond.

After undergoing a thorough audit process that allowed the Club to make a fully informed decision, Tyrers Coaches will remain the Club’s coach service provider and will continue the tradition of a matchday bus service, which has been operating since the opening of the University of Bolton Stadium over two decades ago.

The bus service will see some routes reduced to one bus rather than two and will continue from the following areas: Egerton, Breighmet, Radcliffe, Pendlebury and Boothstown.

The services have been streamlined for next season, with the bus from Leigh no longer being available to supporters as the service was no longer viable for the Football Club to continue due to the extremely low number of supporters utilising it.

Buses will be in service for every Wanderers home game in Sky Bet League One throughout 2023/24 and will operate one hour earlier on a Saturday matchday. The club will communicate a full timetable prior to the 23/24 season commencing.

However, unless otherwise stated, the buses will not be running for pre-season fixtures and cup games (Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Papa Johns Trophy), unless we feel demand requires this to take place. Bus fares for supporters will remain the same for the 2023/24 season.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers said: “We are happy to have reached an agreement with Tyrers Coaches and to be in a position to continue offering a matchday bus service to our supporters.

“I would like to personally thank the Supporters’ Trust for their input throughout this process and to the many fans that have provided constructive feedback over recent months - we have listened, and we are pleased that the end result is a positive one for all involved.

“Not only does this service now put the Club in a cost-neutral position ahead of next season but it ensures that a number of our supporters who rely on this service can continue to get to fixtures at the University of Bolton Stadium next season.

“As a Club, we know how vital your support is, especially at home, and we hope this is another step towards ensuring that level of support continues.

“We look forward to working with Tyrers into the 2023/24 season and thank them once again for their support of our Club.”
