Auction Ending Soon | Match Worn-Shirts Vs Blackpool

poppy shirts blackpool

This November, we were proud to once again have joined football clubs across the country to show our support for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, and there is still time for you to get your hands on a match-worn shirt from our win over Blackpool.

It was a game to remember as George Thomason's wonder strike secured a vital 1-0 victory for Ian Evatt's side in our Annual Remembrance Fixture in front of over 24,000 at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

For the game earlier this month, our home shirts donned the emblem of the poppy to pay respect to all those who have lost their lives in conflict, making them a fantastic piece of Wanderers history to get your hands on.

The digital auction went live at kick-off of the Blackpool game, with the proceeds raised being donated to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Adding to it being match-worn, all shirts have been signed by the lads to make it a perfect prize to win for any Wanderers supporter!

*Auction ends at 15:00 on Sunday 26th November*

The Royal British Legion

The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal takes place from Thursday 26 October until Remembrance Sunday on 12 November. Every year the RBL leads the nation in Remembrance across the UK to honour the contribution of our Armed Forces community, past and present.

Since it was first worn as an act of Remembrance just over 100 years ago, the red poppy has become an enduring symbol of support for our Armed Forces. Remembrance unites people of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds.

This year, the iconic poppy has been given a make-over and is now completely plastic-free and easily recycled. The new poppy, which has been revamped for the first time in 28 years, is made entirely from paper, no longer has a single-use plastic stem or centre and can be recycled through ordinary household recycling collections.

Every donation to the RBL’s Poppy Appeal raises vital funds to support the Armed Forces community all year round and ensures their unique contribution is never forgotten.

To help the Royal British Legion continue its vital work, head to MatchWornShirt’s website and get involved in one of the many auctions for this year’s Poppy Appeal: MatchWornShirt.com/poppy,
