B Team fixtures 2023/24

The Whites’ B Team kicks off its Central League campaign with a trip to face Preston North End’s Reserves.

The release of the fixtures shows Wanderers then face Salford City’s second string in their first home game at Lostock.

In the Central League Cup, Matt Craddock’s youngsters have been drawn in Group A along with Stockport County, Huddersfield Town B, Rotherham United and Salford City.

There are 18 clubs split into four groups in the competition, which was won last season by Blackpool.

As well as fixtures in the Central League and Cup, Wanderers’ B Team will play a wide range of friendly fixtures against senior and Academy opposition to build up their games’ programme and further develop the pathway between Academy and first-team football.

The B Team is currently unbeaten in its pre-season programme with a 1-1 draw at Lancaster City followed by 5-2 wins at Longridge Town and Atherton Collieries.

Their next friendly is this coming Saturday (29 July) at home to Everton’s U21s (KO 11am).

The fixture at Wanderers’ Lostock training ground will be open to spectators.

The young Whites then go to Warrington Rylands next Tuesday night (1 Aug) to face Northern Premier League Premier Division opposition for the third time.

Kick-off at Gorsey Lane is 7.30pm with admission £2 and free for U16s.
