Bolton Wanderers Appoint Niaz Shazad as Chief Financial Officer

Bolton Wanderers Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Niaz Shazad as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). 

With a distinguished career spanning across elite sports organisations, Niaz brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of driving financial growth and commercial success.

Niaz joins Wanderers from City Football Group, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of multiple football clubs worldwide, across men’s and women’s Football. 

Prior to that, he served as a key financial executive at the Rugby Football Union (RFU), contributing to the success of England Rugby and its operations across both the 2015 & 2019 World Cups, the Six Nations, as well as the Lions Tour. 

His appointment marks a significant milestone for Bolton Wanderers as the club continues to strengthen its leadership and financial position. Niaz's deep understanding of the sports industry will be invaluable in guiding the club towards sustainable growth and future success.

In his new role, Niaz will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the club, including financial reporting and strategic planning.

“The club's passionate fanbase are the heart and soul of this club and, along with my dedicated and talented colleagues, I’m firmly of the belief we can achieve great things together. 

"I took in my first game recently against Wrexham and saw first hand what a force we can be when we are all together – this will be fundamental to our success. I cannot wait for a full-house.
