Gethin Jones starts his first game of the season and captains the Whites as Wanderers look to secure their passage through to the knock-out stages of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
Jones is named in an experienced line-up by Whites’ boss Ian Evatt for the Group D decider at the Toughsheet Stadium.
A win or two points from a drawn game and a successful penalty shoot-out would guarantee the Whites – winners of the competition in 2023 – a place in the last 32.
The fit-again Jones lines up in Wanderers’ defence after a substitute appearance at Stockport County last Saturday, with six of the side that started the defeat at Edgeley Park named in the team to face League Two Town.
Of those coming into the side, midfielder Sonny Sharples-Ahmed, 19, makes his first senior start after an appearance off the bench at Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup in August for the Academy graduate.
Youngsters Ben Andreucci, Sam Inwood, Conor Lewis are joined among the substitutes by Youth Team midfielder Harley Irwin.
Fleetwood are seeking a similar outcome to Wanderers to try and progress, while group leaders Aston Villa U21s will go through if they earn a point at bottom club Barrow.
Charlie Adam's line-up also includes a bulk of players who have featured regularly in the league this season, although youngster Luke Hewitson makes a senior debut in goal.
