In-form Wanderers will be looking to continue their flying start to the campaign when they launch their FA Youth Cup challenge at Rotherham tomorrow (Tuesday) night.
Julian Darby’s youngsters are unbeaten so far this season and stayed top of the EFL Youth Alliance with a 5-1 win over Carlisle United on Saturday.
The Whites also lead their group in the Youth Alliance Cup and will be hoping to maintain their interest in another competition when they face the Millers in a first-round tie at the AESSEAL New York Stadium (KO 7pm).
“The boys have been doing really well and this is a nice distraction for them,” said youth boss Darby, whose side beat Blackpool at this stage last season. “It’s something a bit different from the league and the Youth Cup is a competition everyone looks forward to each season.
“It’s also an opportunity to play on a first-team ground which is something they should enjoy and embrace. They will feel the same, of course, so it won’t be easy, but we’ve just got to keep our feet on the ground, continue what we’re doing and hopefully keep the run going to progress to the next round.”
Tickets for the tie at Rotherham are priced £8 for adults and £3 concessions and can be bought HERE or on the day from the main ticket office at the stadium.
Concession prices are for over 60s, young adults (18-21), active HM Forces and those on higher rate DLA or equivalent. Proof will be required for all concessions.
