Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) are delighted to unveil Gethin Jones as our official Charity Ambassador for the 2024-25 season.
The launch of our new ambassador for the season marks the ongoing commitment of both club and charity to use the power of football to create positive change across Bolton.
Gethin Jones, BWFC First Team player, joined BWitC staff on Tuesday 19th November to officially mark the start of his ambassadorship.
Meeting with members of the BWitC team from various sectors, including Health and Communities, as well as Education, Gethin spoke with the team about his ambassador role and why it was important for him to be involved this season.
Gethin shared his reasons for taking on the ambassador role. “For me as a player, to give something back to the whole community, people who are struggling and all kinds of areas, I’m honoured to be the ambassador,” he said. “I want to give something back to the whole community and anyone who’s struggling.”
Richard Slater, Head of Community at BWitC, spoke of the importance of this partnership, saying, “The support of the club and players through the ambassador scheme echoes our Club and Charity ethos of One Club, One Community, One Town. We are excited to work closely with Gethin throughout the season and look forward to seeing how his role as ambassador can help increase awareness of the vital work we do across Bolton.”
BWitC are dedicated to improving the lives of local residents and working towards a connected Bolton without disadvantage. With Gethin as Charity Ambassador, we look forward to increasing the awareness across our wide range programs and services catered to residents aged 0-95.
