International Call Ups | October 2024

NI

Five of the Wanderers' squad have been called up to international duty for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches in October.

As previously announced, this means that Wanderers' scheduled fixture against Stevenage on 12th October has been postponed with a new date now confirmed as Tuesday 29th October (kick-off 7:45pm).

Luke Southwood, Eoin Toal and Dion Charles have all received call-ups by Northern Ireland as they prepare to take on Belarus and Bulgaria.

Michael O'Neill's side have won one and lost one so far in the competition with victory over Luxembourg and defeat to the hands of Bulgaria.

Elsewhere, midfielder Josh Sheehan will be involved with the Wales squad as they face Iceland in Reykjavík and Montenegro at home in Cardiff.

Craig Bellamy's tenure as Wales' boss started with a draw against Turkey followed by a 2-1 victory over Montenegro.

Szabolcs Schön has also received his first call up to the Hungarian National Team since 2021 as he will be joining up with the squad for fixtures against Netherlands and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The Wanderers left wing-back has settled into life in England well, becoming a fan favourite at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and even grabbed his first goal for the Whites against Shrewsbury Town last week.

Chris Forino will miss out on St. Lucia's CONCAF Nations League fixtures against Saint Martin following an injury he picked up against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and subsequent surgery to repair the damage.

He marked his first couple of games for his country with two wins against Curacao and Grenada, and even got on the scoresheet with a powerful header against Grenada.
