International Calls For Wanderers' Trio

November internationals

Wanderers have had three players called up by their countries for Nations League duty later this month.

Midfielder Josh Sheehan – man of the match on his last international appearance in October – is included in the Wales’ squad for their promotion deciders against Turkey and Iceland in League B.

And striker Dion Charles and goalkeeper Luke Southwood have again been named by League C Group 3 leaders Northern Ireland as they also look to secure a promotion place.

Eoin Toal misses out on a place in Michael O’Neill’s squad with the hamstring injury which will keep the Wanderers’ defender sidelined for a number of weeks.

Northern Ireland face Belarus, who are second in the group, in Belfast on Friday, 15th November before going to Luxembourg three days later to play their final group game and potentially seal a promotion spot.

Wales, unbeaten under new boss Craig Bellamy, could top their group if they can win away to leaders Turkey on Saturday, 16th November and get the points they need at home to Iceland on Tuesday, 19th November.

Countries finishing second in their group qualify for a two-legged promotion play-off tie in March.

Wanderers’ international call-ups mean their League One fixture at Rotherham United scheduled for Saturday, 16th November has been postponed. A new date will be confirmed in due course.
