Josh Sheehan has been named as a finalist for the League One Player of the Season at the 2024 Northwest Football Awards, with Bolton Wanderers in the Community also up for two awards.
The Welsh international had an outstanding 2023/24 campaign for Ian Evatt's side, emphasised when winning both Wanderers’ Player and Players’ Player of the Season awards along with being named in the PFA Team of the Year - as well as a nomination for the PFA League One Player of the Year.
With two goals and a dozen assists last season, coupled with a stunning free-kick against Reading in September to get off the mark in 2024/25, Josh continues to impress at the heart of Wanderers' midfield.
Josh is up for the award alongside Jon Mellish of Carlisle United, Brendan Wiredu of Fleetwood Town and Sam Tickle of Wigan Athletic, with the winner announced on the night next month.
Bolton Wanderers in the Community have also been recognised at the Northwest Football Awards, nominated for Community Club of the Season (all other leagues) and Community Initiative of the Season (all other leagues) as a reward for their continued fantastic and inspirational work in our local community.
The Northwest Football awards take place on Monday 25th November at The Point at Emirates Old Trafford, with the event hosted by Eilidh Barbour and Dion Dublin.
Good luck Josh, and good luck to BWitC!
