Back-to-back league victories is just what Wanderers were chasing after a testing few weeks in terms of results.
Following the 2-0 win over Crawley Town on Saturday, this will be the Whites' third consecutive away game following the Carabao Cup tie with Arsenal and the trip to the Broadfield Stadium last weekend.
In last season's visit to Sixfields, ten-man Bolton battled back from a goal and player down to secure a point thanks to a well taken goal from Carlos Mendes Gomes.
You have to go all the way back to 1967 for the last time Wanderers left Northampton empty handed. A game played at The County Ground - where Northampton were tenants until making the move to Sixfields in 1994.
Manager Quotes
Ian Evatt: “It is a quick turnaround, it is obviously another long trip and these things have been challenging over the last few days but it is part of football and we are blessed by the board that we are able to prepare in the correct way.
“That had a massive help in us getting the result on Saturday and we will try to do the correct things to get ready for a tough game at Northampton."
Northampton Town Manager Jon Brady: "It is the league, two really tough games ahead of us but we have got to face the first challenge.
Speaking on their 2-0 home defeat to Mansfield Town: “The performance was there and on the ball, it was probably our best performance of the season so far.
“We created some great chances and could have easily been two or three up. Missing the penalty was obviously a big moment and then we concede early in the second half and are chasing the game."
Team News
Klaidi Lolos is back and raring to go if Ian Evatt so chooses on Tuesday night but the midfielder will have difficulty forcing himself into the starting line-up with the Whites collecting maximum points in their last two league outings.
Chris Forino remains out with the hamstring injury that he picked up away at Arsenal. Gethin Jones, Will Forrester and Carlos Mendes Gomes all continue with their respective recoveries.
For the Cobblers, forward Tyler Roberts and winger Tariqe Fosu are building their minutes having both started on Saturday but the question remains whether they can play again in quick succession.
Northampton welcomed free agent Nesta Guinness-Walker last Friday on a free transfer, with the full-back ready to make his debut if called upon.
Form Guide
Wins over Crawley Town and Reading have Wanderers climbing back up the early season table as they head to Sixfields Stadium. Ian Evatt's side will be looking for three straight victories for the first time in 2024 to continue their current momentum.
Jon Brady's side sit just three places below Wanderers in the standings with one victory in their last five, albeit an impressive away win at Huddersfield Town with Town finishing the game with ten men.
A disappointing result followed last time out however, losing 2-0 at home to Mansfield which included Tariqe Fosu missing a first half penalty.
