Match Preview | Wanderers v Burton Albion

Match Preview Burton Albion

Wanderers head into this game on Saturday on a four-game unbeaten run in the league, taking 10 points from a possible 12.

Last time out, the Whites came from two goals down to keep their unbeaten run alive drawing 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town in a second half that Ian Evatt's side dominated and were unfortunate not to take all three points from. Dempsey and Schön with the goals.

Saturday's visitors sit second bottom of the table and have yet to register a league win under new Head Coach, Mark Robinson.

Wanderers are unbeaten in their last four games against the Brewers including a 1-0 victory last time out, thanks to a Jasper Moon own goal.

Manager Quotes

Ian Evatt: "In the last four league games we ‘ve won three of them, scored lots of goals and ended with a good second-half against Shrewsbury, so we're in pretty good form.

"The players have trained exceptionally well this week. As a manager you normally get a feel for when they're in a good place and I do think they are. We know we've got a difficult week coming up but that starts with Burton and we’re looking no further than that."

Burton Albion Head Coach Mark Robinson: "It’s a great opportunity to have a great week, and I think people need to realise that a great week might look a little bit different for us right now.

"A great week might be three terrific performances where you don’t quite get what you need, it might also look like three terrific performances where you get exactly what you want. We can’t start going off piece we just need to be aware of what a great week looks like for us."

Team News

Keeper Nathan Baxter was unavailable for the visit of Shrewsbury Town two weeks ago through injury but will be aiming to be back this weekend.

Eoin Toal was substituted in Northern Ireland's 5-0 win over Bulgaria with a knock to his head/neck and will need to be assessed before his return to the side can be confirmed.

Reinforcements are also on their way in defence with both Will Forrester and Gethin Jones back in training and working their way back up to fitness.

For the visitors, defender Terence Vancooten was shown a straight red card in their defeat to Bristol Rovers in Burton's previous match, so will miss Saturday's contest through suspension.

Midfielder Jack Hazlehurst and forward Billy Bodin will miss out with both recovering from injuries along with striker Julian Larsson who picked up a knock in training this week.

Form Guide
