Wanderers go in search of back-to-back victories on Saturday when Charlton Athletic are the visitors to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Ian Evatt’s men fought off a difficult Wycombe test in midweek to emerge with all three points and will be looking for a similar outcome this weekend against Nathan Jones’ side.
Manager quotes
Ian Evatt: “Charlton are a huge club with a rich history and seeing their journey this season should give our fans and ourselves some perspective on what we’re achieving. Football doesn’t stand up on reputations.
“They’ve got a really good manager and coach in Nathan (Jones) and they’ve recruited heavily in January so they’ve got a strong group. Saturday is going to be a challenge for us and they’re fighting for their lives and we’re fighting too so we need to go out and make sure we execute a good performance.
“We’re not looking too far ahead, we're not looking at next week or the week after or what might be in April. We're looking at the here and now and that's a really challenging game against Charlton on Saturday.”
Charlton Manager Nathan Jones: “They will pose an excellent test. They are right up the top going for automatic promotion. The manager has been there a few years, they are well drilled and know what they are doing. We have to travel there and make sure we are the best version of us otherwise it'll be a tough game.
"Ian Evatt is an excellent manager, he has done really well at that football club, got them promoted and they were unfortunate last year. Now they are showing that they are stronger again, they have improved year in year out. The stability they have got has really helped that."
Team News
Dion Charles has been ruled out for the next few games after sustaining slight medial ligament damage in Tuesday's win over Wycombe.
Cameron Jerome missed out on the matchday squad on Tuesday with a back problem but that has cleared up and he's good to go again.
Nathan Baxter, Ricardo Almeida Santos, Randell Williams and Will Forrester all remain sidelined with their respective injuries whilst George Thomason continues to serve a suspension.
Form Guide
Charlton recently appointed Nathan Jones as the man in charge at the Valley and he will be aiming to steer the Addicks as far away from danger as possible.
Without a win since November 28th, Jones will be eager to get three points and get the confidence flowing in his team for the remainder of the season. So far since being in charge, Charlton has tasted defeat at Reading before drawing at home to Lincoln City.
The Addicks currently occupy the 20th position in League One and are one point above the drop zone having played more games than the teams directly below them.
Wanderers got back on the winning trail on Tuesday night thanks to goals from Gethin Jones and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson in a 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers to keep the Whites hot on the tails of the top two.
