It's the last of three consecutive home league games for Wanderers as they look to return to winning ways.
The Whites go in search on three points in-front of the Wanderers faithful, looking to turn the club's fortunes after a frustrating run of results.
Wanderers should be buoyed by last season's 5-2 victory over this weekend's visitors and are unbeaten against The Royals at home since 2016.
Reading sit mid-table but Rubén Sellés' side are yet to win on the road this season.
Manager Quotes
Wanderers' manager Ian Evatt: “A win is important but a good performance would help enormously as well.
“We are trying to make changes we think will affect the players, because they are the most important people at the moment. They are the ones who have to perform on Saturday.
“Sometimes the dynamic within a staffing group or within the players, you just need to shift it. That is what we have looked at doing, so we will see if we get the response we need.”
Reading Manager Rubén Sellés: “Evaluating everything, we’ve had a good start to the season and know there will be ups and downs and we are going to fight. We have our clear targets and everybody needs to know the target is to get 50 points as quickly as possible.
"It's interesting how sometimes teams that come so close to promotion, like Bolton last season, can experience a bit of a hangover. Football is cyclical. Right now, they’re near the bottom, but they’ve been riding a high over the last year. They almost made it to the Championship, and when you get that close but don’t quite make it, setbacks can happen."
Team News:
Ian Evatt confirmed that Carlos Mendes Gomes is making good progress on his road to recovery following his ruptured Achilles tendon. No surgery was required for Klaidi Lolos after his ankle injury suffered in Wanderers' victory over Leyton Orient but remains out for now along with Jordi Osei-Tutu, who reamins out with a knee injury.
Randell Williams has spent the full week in training, with Gethin Jones and Will Forester are making good progress.
Reading will be without their number one keeper, Joel Pereira, who has suffered a twisted ankle. Youngster Coniah Boyce-Clark started last week but was at fault for Leyton Orient's winner, which may open the door for David Button.
Form Guide
Wanderers will be hoping for their first home league win before they hit the road next week when travelling to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Defeats in the early stages of the season leave the Whites in a position they've not been used to in recent seasons but will be hoping to propel themselves up the table with victory on the weekend.
It's two wins and two defeats for Reading in their last four league games, with victories over Charlton Athletic and Wigan Athletic mixed in-between defeats to both Leyton Orient and Wrexham.
The Royals also won their opening fixture in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, beating West Ham United U21s in positive fashion to kick-start their campaign.
