Club captain Ricardo Almeida Santos and Wanderers’ team-mate Josh Sheehan have both been named in the PFA League One Team of the Year for 2023/24.
The duo were voted into the select XI by their fellow professionals with the line-up announced at the annual PFA awards in Manchester.
Santos earned his place in the divisional Team of the Year for a third season in a row after again leading by example for Wanderers as one of the outstanding defenders in League One as Ian Evatt’s men reached the play-off final.
Sheehan – who was also named in the EFL League One line-up for last season – was picked after a stand-out campaign which saw him provide a dozen assists and win both the Whites’ players’ and supporters’ Player of the Year awards.
League One winners Portsmouth had four players included in the Team of the Year, with Wanderers and EFL Trophy winners Peterborough providing two apiece.
