The BWFC Sleepout takes place this Friday 22nd March during which over 130 fundraisers – including club CEO Neil Hart and COO Phil Mason – will sleep overnight at the Toughsheet Community Stadium to raise as much money as possible for local charities.
With over £10,000 already raised by 28 teams, all funds from the event will be split between Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Urban Outreach, Emmaus Bolton and Backup Northwest - and the hope is to break through last year’s total of almost £28,000.
Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers said: “Though there’s a break in the domestic football schedule this week, there is certainly plenty still going on off the pitch and we are proud to be hosting this great event to support our community.
“We’ve had fantastic backing from local businesses and Wanderers’ supporters who will brave the cold with us to support these special charities who are all carrying out invaluable work in Bolton.
“With close to £10,000 already raised, we’re excited to see how far we can push the total and send our thanks in advance to all those who are able to donate.”
Donations can be made directly to Neil and Phil's JustGiving page HERE.
More about the charities:
Bolton Wanderers in the Community deliver projects and initiatives to support children, families and older adults who may be experiencing hardship and multiple disadvantages, exacerbated by the current economic climate.
Urban Outreach deliver services to move homeless people and those who are difficult to house into suitable and sustainable accommodation – so no one has to resort to living on the streets of Bolton at any time.
Backup North West provide high quality, holistic housing and support services across Bolton to young people aged 16-25 years who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness.
Emmaus Bolton provides a home and meaningful work to up to 22 people with experience of homelessness. Their social enterprises generate the revenue which keeps the community self-sustainable.
