Remembrance Fixture
Wanderers will pay their respects to all those who have lost their lives in conflict at the club’s annual Remembrance fixture, taking place at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday.
For the upcoming visit of Peterborough United on Saturday 26th October, we kindly ask supporters to be in their seats by 2:45pm to join in the commemorations ahead of kick-off 15 minutes later.
Prior to the game, poppies will be on sale around the Toughsheet from Horwich Air Cadets with the corner flags and shirts of Wanderers’ matchday squad also displaying the poppy.
Wanderers will also wear these shirts for our trip to Stockport County next month, before being auctioned off to raise vital funds for the Royal British Legion.
A guard of honour, led by the wreath bearers for the fixture, will welcome both teams onto the pitch before Club Chaplain, Wanderers COO and Bolton Wanderers in the Community CEO Phil Mason will read the Ode to Remembrance.
This will be followed by a bugler playing the last post ahead of a minute’s silence, before the lads kick-off the action in front of another huge crowd.
