Ricardo Almeida Santos starts his first game since January as Wanderers aim to re-assert themselves in the play-off race against old foes Barnsley.
Almeida Santos has recovered from the pelvic injury that had kept him out of the picture following the arrival of Steven Schumacher as head coach and returns in the one change to the Whites’ starting line-up.
The former skipper replaces Gethin Jones in Wanderers’ defence, with Jones named among the substitutes alongside Jay Matete and Klaidi Lolos, who both return to the 18 following Tuesday night’s 1-0 loss to Rotherham.
Barnsley, who won at Wanderers on Boxing Day, have slipped out of play-off contention on the back of a seven-game winless run but Schuamcher’s men could be back in the top six tonight if they can repeat their play-off win at Oakwell from last season and Reading lose at Northampton Town.
The Tykes have former Wanderers' loanee Josh Earl back in their side after a month out through injury.
