George Thomason’s stunning strike against Blackpool earned the Wanderers’ captain the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month award for November.
Thomason topped a supporters’ poll from a four-man shortlist to take the prize.
For the second season running the midfielder unleashed a cracker against the club where he started his career to earn the Whites a vital three points.
The game in November saw Thomason collect the ball outside the penalty area and make space beyond a couple of players before lashing a right-footed shot into the roof of the net to set up a comeback which ended with a 2-1 win for the Whites.
“I’m delighted my goal was chosen to win the award and thanks to all those who voted for it,” said Thomason.
“It was a special goal for me as I don’t score too many - especially like that and against a former club - and it came at such an important time for us.
“It got us back into the game and we then went on to win against one of our locals in what was a big match for us at that stage.
“Adding goals to my game is something I’m always looking to do, so hopefully there will be a few more to help us get plenty more wins and climb the table to where we want to be between now and the end of the season.”
