An important initiative to support the North West’s most vulnerable is coming to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Wanderers fans will spot The Utilita Giving Food Hub ahead of the upcoming home clash against Northampton Town (Saturday October 21).

Here, supporters can donate any non-perishable items, which will then be distributed to food banks across Bolton and surrounding areas.

The organiser, Utilita Giving, is the official charity partner of the club’s shorts sponsor, Utilita Energy.

Keira Meadus from the charity said: “We are exceptionally grateful to both Utilita and Bolton for facilitating this initiative.

“It is through such partnerships that we are able to reach those who are most in need of support and, since our partner Utilita joined forces with this fantastic club, we have been able to accelerate our work in the North West.

“All donations will be gratefully received and please do not be afraid to stop for a chat – we look forward to speaking with as many fans as we can.”

The Food Hub, located in the Wellbeing Centre, next to the ticket office, will be open from 1pm.

Utilita Giving supports individuals, families and households who are experiencing fuel and food poverty across England, Scotland and Wales, and who meet the charity’s purpose and eligibility criteria.

Support comes in the form of monetary grants, expert advice and direct signposting when necessary.

The charity will also support groups and organisations whose intentions match that of Utilita Giving, helping people in fuel and food poverty.
