Wanderers Awarded Family Excellence Status

Bolton Wanderers are proud to have received Family Excellence Status, being handed the silver award by the EFL.

The scheme, introduced in the 2007/08 season, assesses the family experience that clubs provide throughout the Football League. Clubs are rewarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze for the quality of their matchday experience across a range of touchpoints including ticket purchase, matchday entertainment, accessibility, facilities and communications.

EFL clubs received two ‘mystery family’ visits throughout the season, with their feedback and reports determining whether clubs would achieve ‘Family Excellence’ status.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers, said: “We’re delighted once again to be awarded with ‘Family Excellence’ status for another year.

“We are striving to continually improve the matchday experience from all aspects of our Football Club, and the award of Silver reflects that work.

“Whether that is through our Community Day initiatives throughout the season to allow families to watch Wanderers at a reduced price, to our highly competitive Season Ticket prices at League One level.

“Off-the-field, our Leasing Options Fan Zone provides ideal pre-match entertainment for any Wanderers’ supporter, giving supporters the perfect location to get in the mood for kick-off with food, drink and live entertainment all on offer.

“As a club, we are committed to ensuring that the Toughsheet Community Stadium is a place for everyone, and working with Bolton Council to install a Changing Places facility at the stadium was another vital step forward.

"We would like to thank the Bolton Wanderers' Supporters Trust for their continued support and for working with the Football Club into improving these areas and making Bolton Wanderers accessible for all.

“The award of silver is a brilliant base for us to work from, and allows the club to make further steps to improve on this in the coming seasons.”

EFL Chief Executive, Trevor Birch, said: “Attendances across the EFL are at a modern day high and it’s really encouraging to see more than one million junior supporters attend an EFL match for the third season in a row, highlighting the great work being done by EFL Clubs to encourage young people through the turnstiles.”
