Sharon Brittan was recognised at the Bolton News Business Awards last weekend when she was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday night.

The Whites’ Chairman collected the well-deserved accolade for her continued work and commitment to the Football Club following the takeover by Football Ventures Whites Limited of Wanderers back in August, 2019.

In the five years that has followed, Sharon – alongside the Board – has overseen an extensive rebuild of the club both on and off-the-field, as Wanderers look to continue their ascent up the English pyramid.

Forging a fantastic, working relationship with manager Ian Evatt and his staff, Sharon has overseen continued progress, year-on-year, with Wanderers ready to challenge for success at the top end of League One once again this season.

But it’s not just on-the-field where Wanderers have continued to prosper. Supported by the brilliant work of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Sharon has helped to foster a fantastic spirit and togetherness, with the club using the power of Bolton Wanderers to help inspire and unite the local community.

On receiving the award, Wanderers Chairman Sharon Brittan, said: "I find this Lifetime Achievement Award truly humbling and astonishing. I was born in Manchester, so when I decided to go into football, I knew I wanted to work with a community and try to make a difference to people's lives - and I knew I wanted to do it at a club in the north of England.

"Since the very first day, the people of Bolton have been so welcoming, and to be given the opportunity to galvanise this town and the community is just incredible.

“During the awards evening, we saw the incredible work that is being done, and at Bolton Wanderers, we have an open door policy - we never want anyone to lose hope, because here, there is always an open door.

"We can only do that because we all work together as a town. We are one club, one community, one town. I can only do my bit because of what the wider community does too. I see it first hand every day, the life-changing work that is happening.

"I am so grateful to have the opportunity to play a small part in that. I feel honoured to have received this award - it is a testament to the amazing Bolton Wanderers family and the wonderful community we serve."

From everyone at Bolton Wanderers, we would like to congratulate our Chairman on this hugely deserved award.
