Wanderers will kick off their defence of the EFL Trophy at home to Salford City.
The Whites, who won last season’s competition by beating Plymouth Argyle 4-0 in the final at Wembley, will also have a home tie in the group stage against Manchester United’s U21s.
Ian Evatt’s men complete their fixtures in Group E of the northern section with a trip to Stockport County.
The top two teams in the group will advance to the knock-out stages of the competition, with the group winners guaranteed a home tie in the round of 32.
The date of the home fixture against United’s youngsters – who Wanderers knocked out at the last-16 stage last season – is subject to change depending on the Whites’ possible progress in the Carabao Cup.
