Bolton Wanderers Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Flo Rigby from Wigan Athletic Ladies and Girls, further bolstering their ranks ahead of Sunday’s game against Preston North End Women.
After training with the Whites’ first team squad for a number of weeks, Rigby has impressed enough to ensure Wanderers’ coaching staff moved quickly to secure the signature of the exciting attacking midfielder.
Flo becomes a Bolton player after starting out in youth football at Bury, before time spent with both Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic in recent years as she now looks to force her way into Wanderers' starting eleven.
Celebrating her 18th birthday this week, Flo has an eye for both a goal and assist - and now officially links up with the squad this week as they look to continue their impressive start to the campaign.
“I’m buzzing to have finally signed, officially. The team is great and I can’t wait to get going,” she said.
“I already know a couple of the girls and it’s a fantastic environment to be in, so it’s a fantastic team to come and join.
“I’ve had a lot of sit downs with the coaching staff and they have already said they want me to showcase what I’m about and my style - and the way we play suits me down to the ground.
“One of the reasons that drew me into Bolton was the project and the way they want to progress, and I want to be part of that.”
Flo will wear the number 28 for Wanderers Women this season and goes straight into contention this weekend as Myles Smith’s side take on PNE at the Dreams2Reality Stadium.
Sunday's game against Preston is also Wanderers' Festive Family Fun Day - with lots of activities for all to enjoy. Click here to find out more and join us at home!
