Bolton Wanderers Women can confirm that Sunday’s league game against Accrington Stanley Women will take place at Chorley FC’s Victory Park.
Wanderers head into the fixture in buoyant mood after securing their first trophy under club operations on Thursday evening - beating Sunday’s opponents in a 5-1 win in the Challenge Cup Final.
A Faye Knox hat-trick, as well as goals for Lily Barnes and Grace Grundy, secured the victory at Lancashire FA’s County Ground in front of over 1,000 supporters.
Myles Smith’s side now head into a match-up with Stanley again this weekend in the knowledge that a potential victory can secure the Division One North league title.
The Whites have already played at Chorley twice this season, securing a victory in two cup competitions in the form of Tranmere Rovers in the ADP Cup before sealing their passage into last night’s final back in February when beating Preston North End.
Wanderers will now come up against Stanley on Sunday 13th April (kick-off 2pm) at Victory Park hoping to make it a memorable week for the Women’s team.
Myles Smith, Women’s Manager, said: “Firstly, I must say that Atherton Collieries have been absolutely unbelievable with us this season. Paul Gregory and his team there do brilliant things and we are thankful to them for what they have done for us in our first year under club operations.
“Despite the end of our season just over a week away, we will continue to work closely with the team down at Colls on a number of things put in place behind-the-scenes as a show of appreciation for their support.
“We can’t wait to have them join us for our first game at the Toughsheet Community Stadium next week also and be part of that day, as they deserve to share an historic moment with us as we play at the home of Bolton Wanderers for the very first time.
“After conversations with all the relevant people behind-the-scenes ahead of Sunday’s game, we’re also thankful to Chorley for accommodating us as we look to back up the superb victory in the Challenge Cup Final.
“We saw the impact of the fans’ support on Thursday, with so many coming down to give their backing to this team to help us on to victory - and we need that same level of support again this weekend.”
As always with Wanderers home fixtures, entry will be free into Victory Park, and we want to see as many supporters as we can on Sunday afternoon to try and help us achieve our goals.
