Australia-born Jones joined Everton as an U12, where he won the U18 Premier League, and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2014.
The right-sided defender captained Wales from the U16s to the U21s and gained loan experience at Plymouth and Barnsley before joinuing Fleetwood Town in January, 2018.
Jones then joined Carlisle for the 2019/20 season before becoming one of the first Wanderers' signings for manager Ian Evatt when he joined the Whites in August 2020.
He made his debut in the first round of the EFL Cup against Bradford and played a key role in the club’s promotion to League One at the end of his first season with the club.
A key player either as a central defender or wing-back, Jones signed two subsequent new contracts running to June, 2024 and played his 100th game for the club in February, 2023.
The vice-captain helped Wanderers to life the EFL Trophy at Wembley last season before signing an extended contract to run until June 2025.
