Having joined Stoke City at the age of six in 2007, Forrester progressed to make his professional debut in May 2021 and even scored the opening goal in a 2-0 win away to Bournemouth.

With first-team opportunities limited, Forrester joined Port Vale for an undisclosed fee. 

Will spent one season at Vale, impressing throughout as part of a back three for the Valiants. 

Those performances impressed Ian Evatt and his staff who convinced Forrester to join on a three-year deal fro an undisclosed fee.
